Kindle will allow lending by year end

Amazon announced recently that later this year, the Kindle platform will start allowing users to ‘lend’ their eBooks. The books will be available to the recipients for up to 14 days and cannot be lent again from the same lender. These rules are very much the same as the Barnes and Noble Nook platform. This capacity is one of the ones that distinguish the Nook from the Kindle. Amazon looks like it is trying to even the playing field. Their timing seems to be odd with the Barnes and Noble slated to refresh the Nook platform tomorrow. The rumor is that the new Nook will be an Android color eBook reader. If true, it may catapult the Nook to the front of the eReader pack just in time for the holidays.
