Is the Verizon Ipad a marketting ploy?

Verizon and Apple just anounced that Verizon stores would start selling iPad starting October 28th. Unfortunately, the iPad will not have a built in radio for Verizon’s CDMA technology. Instead Verizon will package WiFi iPads with its MiFi devices. The MiFi are devices that connect to Verizon’s network to share the network connection through WiFi. It’s not as sleek as an iPad that can connect directly to the internet through a CDMA radio. Onn the other hand the MiFi connection can be shared with multiple devices. The packages will retail for $629.99, $729.99 and $829.99 for 16GB, 32Gb and 64 GB iPads. The packages make the MiFi devices cost $130 which is a savings of about $100 if you buy the device alone. With the package, consumers can purchase 1 GB of data for $20 a month. There is no contract or commitment which is less than the 2 GB for $25 that ATT charges. Though this may not be the Apple device many Verizon subscribers were hoping for, it does stroke rumors about a Verizon iPhone
