No more Symbian for Sony

Snoy Erricson has announced that they have no plans for new a Symbian powered phones. This would make the Vivaz Sony’s last Symbian powered phone. In the past Sony has made Windows mobile, Android and Symbian phones. But now it looks like they will concentrate on Android based on the success of its new handsets like the Xperia X10 and try their hand at Microsoft’s new mobile OS. This is a big blow to Symbian, the once dominant phone OS. Symbian in general is at a cross roads. They have improved the OS, especially around user experience, but it does not compare to compare to the innovation of iOS or Android. Nokia is the last major handset maker using Symbian and it says its high end phones will be on Mameo. How long can Symbian last?
